If you are staying on top of fitness trends you know that barre workouts are very popular among celebrities, socialites and those who want a workout that works. Drawing on the principles of ballet, yoga, Pilates and orthopedic exercises, the barre workout focuses on the female trouble areas: thighs, hips, seat, abs, and arms. These muscle groups are strengthened through slow, sustained movements, and then are intensely stretched to avoid building bulk. Consistent training in this method will help you achieve a beautiful, healthy body, while creating proper posture, tremendous flexibility and long, lean, strong muscles without the need of high-impact movements (which lead to joint and back pain).

Your flat-belly day!
As an hour-long class this workout has been designed with a strong emphasis on posture, core strenth, and overall health of the back. Participants primarily work the legs, hips and seat with a ballet barre using their own body for resistance and incorporate light hand weights to sculpt and tone the arms, back and shoulders – so there is no heavy lifting or use of machines. And since each individual works at their own pace it's very easy to strengthen and dramatically re-shape the body in a safe, yet challenging manner while even getting a cardio benefit.

Our main goal is to get you in the best shape possible and help you stay that way. At Barre Cleveland™, women can workout without the risk of uncomfortable attention from men, share their fitness successes and struggles with their fellow barre enthusiasts, get the needed support, and even make some new friends along the way.

WHAT TO WEAR?
Please wear comfortable, breathable workout wear. We suggest tight fitting clothing so that the instructor can easily see form and alignment (shorts are not recommended). The workout is done wearing grippy socks, so please feel free to purchase a pair at studio and bring them with you to class thereafter.

WHAT TO BRING?
Everything you need for a great workout is provided for you at Barre Cleveland™! From mats and equipment, to water service at no extra charge. All that we ask is that you please bring your own refillable water bottle and take advantage of the importance of hydration with crisp, purified water (nature's best beverage). And for those of you who have the need to shower after class we have the necessary accommodations at no additional charge.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Barre Cleveland™ workouts are designed for anyone ages 18+ and will benefit clients of every fitness level! The roots of the program were developed to rehabilitate the body. Sports medicine physicians and orthopedists have suggested many of the stretches and strengthening exercises. There are no machines and no heavy lifting, which makes this non-impact class appropriate for people of any age and any level of fitness. But as with any exercise program, check with your physician before starting at Barre Cleveland™.

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
First Time Client

Please purchase your class/package online first and then be sure to arrive 15 minutes early for your first class to provide you ample time to fill out a client waiver, take a tour and meet your instructor.

Injured Clients
It is recommended that clients with injuries consult with their doctors before beginning any new exercise routine. Also, please speak with your Barre Fitness instructor about your injury before class begins.

Pregnant Clients
If you exercise regularly, have no serious medical problems, and an uncomplicated pregnancy, you must have your physician complete a PARmed-X for Pregnancy form to be presented to Barre Cleveland™ before you may take class. For those who are pregnant and have not followed a consistent workout routine for the last six months we highly advise you to postpone your participation until after the pregnancy. And not to worry… We have an amazing New Mom Special geared specifically to get you back into shape. So it’s all good!

BASIC ETIQUETTE GUIDELINES
  • It is in your best interest to make your class reservation and payment in advance and via our online shop. Class size is limited and we don’t want you to make the trip to then find out you’re locked out.
  • All regular participants must arrive at least 10 minutes early and sign in before class starts.
  • Store away up all personal belongings in our secured lockers. No cell phones will be allowed in the studio.
  • We encourage drinking water during class and provide complimentary fresh, purified water service for those bringing a reusable water bottle.
  • For your safety and out of courtesy to others we kindly ask that you not leave studio during the final stretch.
