Jody Trostler

Jody has been passionate about physical movement since she was a child. She studied classical ballet for years before moving into the group fitness world in college. She has been teaching for the past 23 years and loves sharing her passion with others. Jody finds inspiration in helping her clients gain strength, both physically and mentally. She spends most of her time these days personal training clients, both on a private and semi-private basis, of all ages and fitness levels. She also loves the energy of teaching group classes and is thrilled to add BARRE CORE FUSION to her repertoire. Jody believes this method is unlike any other in that it comes from a place of integrity, alignment, and deep physiological purpose in every movement. “You will feel muscles you didn’t know you had,” she swears. When she’s not helping other achieve their fitness goals, she is pursuing her own with a killer combination of CrossFit training, SPARTAN racing and trail running with friends.

Christine Papageorge

At age two, Christine’s mother laced a pair of figure skates on her feet and held her hand as she stepped onto the ice. Through figure skating, she experienced freedom in movement, and it was exhilarating. In her youth, she skated, tumbled and cheered. As an adult, she discovered the rewards of mentoring and coaching these very disciplines. After the birth of her son, she left her job as an elementary school teacher and broadened her understanding of alignment through reformer Pilates and yoga. She vividly recalls her first Power Yoga class at Cleveland Yoga in 2008, where she learned the importance of breath and how to listen to her body. She discovered strength in stillness, reframing her perception of exercise and fitness. Upon resuming her teaching career, Christine trained with Child Light Yoga and was inspired to practice yoga with her students. Several years ago, she left teaching to spend more time with her family. It was her husband who urged her to take a barre class, and for this, she will always be grateful. Barre provided a challenging full body workout that allowed her to find her edge. Exhale Barre Training with Fred DeVito was metamorphic and re-ignited Christine’s passion for teaching. When she’s not at Barre Cleveland she’s most likely at the Holden Arboretum with her Vizsla, or curled up with a good book.

Susan Smola

Susan is a seasoned group fitness and yoga teacher, and has spread her love among all fitness modalities over the years. Returning to the fitness industry after a hiatus which included obtaining her BSN in Nursing, Susan became instantly passionate about barre fitness, and is thrilled to be back with her first yoga teacher, Tami Schneider, and is delighted to be a member of the BARRE Cleveland team. She completed an extensive and intensive training with Exhale co-founder Fred DeVito, and obtained her certificate as an Exhale certified barre teacher. Susan credits barre training with the transformation of her body, mind and spirit. Barre combines functional fitness with elements of Pilates and yoga--improving posture, defining muscles, increasing flexibility, and reducing stress. She attests to the fact that students will see results quickly, and is excited to share her enthusiasm of barre with everyone! Susan strives to convey to her students the same passion that she has for barre training, and her classes are strong, powerful and lively, and are appropriate for all levels of fitness. Our BARRE class is designed to give you a complete body workout using functional fitness techniques (light weights, planks, pushups, squats and healthy alignment cues) that will give you a long, lean frame and enhance your postural alignment. Upbeat music is played while you sculpt your body, strengthen your core and decrease your levels of stress. A program designed for all levels.
